The beating heart of the work we pride ourselves in at Special Branch. Tree Surgery falls, literally and metaphorically, into various distinct work areas. These are as follows:
The careful and systematic removal of a tree from the top down. Often required to enable the safe removal of a tree from an area where access is very tricky and / or other structures or obstacles make a simpler fell impossible or unsafe. This is a highly specialised area of work, and at Special Branch we pride ourselves in our ability to do this safely, efficiently and with the minimum of hassle.
Either single or multiple removal of trees, often using a cut close to the ground to drop the whole tree in a single go. A very technical piece of work, this method is used where there is good access and the site is free from obstructions.
Tree Pruning - Lifting / Thinning /Dead-wooding / Reduction
The selective removal of branches from a tree. Over its life, a tree can become too bulky and over-populated with deadwood. This creates imbalance within the tree and limits the amount of light able to pass through the canopy to the area beneath. This can impact negatively on the health of the tree, and that of the flora and fauna trying to compete on the ground below. Furthermore, it is important that buildings below are subject to sufficient levels light and kept safe from dangerous overhanging branches.
